Supervisors set a hearing on short-term rental rules
The draft would require a local contact who can answer complaints within an hour.
County supervisors will take public comment Thursday on rules for short-term rentals in unincorporated neighborhoods. The draft asks hosts to register each unit and name a contact who can respond when a complaint comes in late.
Neighborhood groups have asked for a limit on how many rentals can sit on one block. Hosts say a hard cap would hit families who rent a back house to cover the mortgage. The hearing starts at 9 a.m. in the county board room.
