Wind advisory runs through Wednesday evening
Gusts near 45 mph and blowing dust are expected on open desert roads.
Forecasters have a wind advisory up for the basin through 8 p.m. Wednesday. Southwest gusts are expected to be strong enough to push dust across highway stretches and open lots.
Drivers should watch for sudden drops in visibility, especially on east-west roads late in the day. Loose outdoor furniture and unfinished roof work can take damage in the stronger gusts. The newsroom will update this story if the advisory is extended.
